Ms. Steps shoes were originally inspired by New Orleans’ Krewe of Muses. Founded in the year 2000 with over 1,500 members, the Krewe of Muses form the largest all-female parading krewe of Mardi Gras. While many spectators and revelers may catch beads or bracelets adorned with tiny shoes thrown to the crowd as their floats roll by, only a very lucky few will catch the most sought-after prize of the entire Carnival season — a hand-crafted Muses shoe!
Because Ms. Steps shoes are custom-made, I can personalize them in almost any way to highlight your passion, a holiday, or create a focal point/conversation piece that enhances your decor. The process is easy: simply fill out a form on the Commissions page. I’ve created everything from simple shoes that are glittered in two favorite colors to ombre shoes to extremely detailed shoes featuring favorite teams, books, or movies. I can help you celebrate just about anything you’d like!
Please note: Ms. Steps shoes are not Muses shoes as I am not currently riding with the krewe—not yet anyway--although it's definitely on my bucket list! I will never make a counterfeit Muses shoe, so please don’t ask me to do that. I will, however, make shoes for Muses members who need more to throw during their parade!
